Bamboo Trains Cambodia

When the need arises , it always driven the humans to invent new things based on the materials available locally. This village man from a remote part of Cambodia invents his bamboo train by using the waste parts of railway.

Watch Video here

This just reminds that we do not need great scientists to invent new things , but the great needs always can make a scientist.

Arab women reasons Islam

I grown up in a village which is located in southern part of India where 13% of the people are Muslim's. Still I have not find or even thought one of them could be terror minded. But the followers of same belief in other part of the world could blow up them self. There could be a logical question here whether the cause is religious or history of the country.Everyone who reads history can understand west is mastered in divide and rule policy for absolute materialistic benefits. In those countries who are victims and those who want to fight back have the Only common factor which could unite them is religion. It is nature that any creature which is week and become furious for its survival can only scare the other in some mean. So those people who blow up them self are one of the victims of the western materialism. Islam could kindle emotional feelings to fight much better than reading oppressed history of cold war. In other side , Will that work the same way with the believers of Buddhisms. When China took over Tibet , I have not heard any Buddhist monks blow them self in Chinese embassy.
Watch this video , a speech by an Arab women who reasons about Islam with English sub title.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1296126090432829344&pr=goog-sl

But those who knows about history could also understand Christians terrified people in the name of witches and poisoned who talked against bible. When those dark ages of Christianity were over, the same religious which terrified people in the name of bible few centuries back become now the religion of Love and Peace. I personally have not seen any text change in bible time between this era. So the west found materialistic wealth and hence religious is not that important for their heirs . So if the Middle east find such a wealth and peace , mostly those so called infidels could abandon their religion or learn not to consider that serious.

My Caricature drawing

I never thought this will be this good fun to draw a caricature drawing . When I started few weeks back , I just took a pencil and some papers and try to draw my colleague face . At the end it turned up like a ghost. Reply from him is "Shut up ! Don't mess up with my face ! "

But in a week , I gained some confident about myself in drawing and went to a shop and bought some charcoals and A4-drawing papers ( This are some thick sheets ). Even in Finland this is not that expensive . You can get it near Hakaniemi market square.

First time I want to try that in a long train journey.
I had a picture of my friend in my N95 . So artist inside me woke up ( hehe this could be great joke !)

I started with eyes and down to nose in proportion to eyes . To make it fun looking , I have extended her lips to further up which usually makes people smiley. Then I drew her cheeks which is really easy since she had huge one . Finally I sketched the outer edge of face with some hair . It turned up pretty good for the first time rookie caricature artist! .

Well Indeed she smiled for this cartoon which made me surprise and encouraged to draw more .

Don't know how many faces I am going to mess up in future .
But definitely this is one hell lot of fun :)

Save World

See the cartoon , God is changing it with new word. Do it now or perish for ever.

Below is a outstanding research by Priya
and you can reach her
dewdrops.sunshine@ gmail.com

I was doing a little research on how much time it takes for plastic to decompose. And I came across some astonishing facts, which I thought I will share with you all.

Glass bottle 1 million years
Monofilament fishing line 600 years
Plastic beverage bottles 450 years
Disposable diapers 450 years
Aluminum can 80-200 years
Foamed plastic cup 50 years
Tin can 50 years
Leather 50 years
Cigarette filter 1-5 years
Waxed milk carton 3 months
Apple core 2 months
Newspaper 6 weeks
Orange peel 2-5 weeks
Banana peel 2-5 weeks
Paper towel 2-4 weeks

(Source: Pocket Guide to Marine Debris, The Ocean Conservancy © 2003 pg. 10)

Some more information esp. on plastics and cigarette…

Most of the plastic bags, cans, bottles etc. end up in a landfill site, never to decompose, since they are impervious to natural decay. Plastic bags cheat the laws of nature. They never die. They just get older!

Even recycling them is a problem. Different types of plastics exist which cannot be recycled together. The mixing of different plastics can create unusable products which will never biodegrade. Even when successful, plastics can only be recycled a few times. They're an ecological nightmare.

They litter the countryside and cause suffering to wildlife and farm animals. Grazing cattle eat them and this causes ulcerations of their bellies. The cows die, their bodies decompose, but the bags live on!

It's not just the land which is affected. The sea is becoming increasingly polluted with plastic. Take a walk along any beach in the country and it won't be long before you find a washed up plastic bag. They even get washed up on uninhabited South Pacific islands.

Plastic bags bob along the Mediterranean sea . Turtles in the Bay of Biscay commonly die of ingestion of plastic bags. They mistake them for jellyfish. In California many sea-lions end up in rehabilitation centers with plastic wrapped around their necks. Seabirds too, have plastic fragments in their stomachs, and plastic molecules in their muscles.

Cigarette filters are made from cellulose acetate, a type of plastic that takes up to 12 years to decompose, and often contains traces of the 4000 chemicals found in cigarette smoke. The estimated 4.5 trillion cigarette butts discarded across the world each year are believed to kill millions of birds, animals and fish.

In fact, our common practice is to throw plastic wrapper, fruit peel, cigarette butts out of the car, walking on the road…and we don't even realize the harm we are doing to the environment. One of the ways to reduce their impact is to make a conscious decision not to throw plastics, cigarette butts, fruit peel etc. on the road.

I urge all of you to throw them in the bins…its a task but it is the first step towards reducing environmental damage and will also help look our city little more cleaner.
With this little plea we invite you for a workshop on the 5th of August,2007 on environmental awareness. The Venue and other details will be intimated to you soon

Request all of you to join us in large numbers ,in our efforts to make this place a better world.

Juggling with Stikcs

The video here is taken at Pori,Finland in a jazz festival . When I see this gal in a sunny afternoon , doing some magic ( relaly first I thought it could be only magic ), it was amazing . She is young , beautiful and her hands hold two small beautiful sticks ( wooden stick rounded with rubber ) and it dance around another beautiful sticks. When I tried it ( or some more people tired ) realized that it is not that simple . Indeed she did it from her childhood and she even capable to do this with fingers. It is fun and even could be addictive to try this juggling with sticks . When you get professional , may be you could lit a fire and try this with fire.

Learn this trick , live from hanna over here .

Even she can make sticks on her own . Indeed I got one from her and it is really cool.

Also , you can make a career with this and earn some money

Ways of saying death in English

Watch Monty Python ( A English comedy serial ) , telling about different way of saying "death".

The Sketch lyrics is like below

A customer enters a pet shop.

Mr. Praline: 'Ello, I wish to register a complaint.

(The owner does not respond.)

Mr. Praline: 'Ello, Miss?

Owner: What do you mean "miss"?

Mr. Praline: I'm sorry, I have a cold. I wish to make a complaint!

Owner: We're closin' for lunch.

Mr. Praline: Never mind that, my lad. I wish to complain about this parrot what I purchased not half an hour ago from this very boutique.

Owner: Oh yes, the, uh, the Norwegian Blue...What's,uh...What's wrong with it?

Mr. Praline: I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. 'E's dead, that's what's wrong with it!

Owner: No, no, 'e's uh,...he's resting.

Mr. Praline: Look, matey, I know a dead parrot when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now.

Owner: No no he's not dead, he's, he's restin'! Remarkable bird, the Norwegian Blue, idn'it, ay? Beautiful plumage!

Mr. Praline: The plumage don't enter into it. It's stone dead.

Owner: Nononono, no, no! 'E's resting!

Mr. Praline: All right then, if he's restin', I'll wake him up! (shouting at the cage) 'Ello, Mister Polly Parrot! I've got a lovely fresh cuttle fish for you if you
show...

(owner hits the cage)

Owner: There, he moved!

Mr. Praline: No, he didn't, that was you hitting the cage!

Owner: I never!!

Mr. Praline: Yes, you did!

Owner: I never, never did anything...

Mr. Praline: (yelling and hitting the cage repeatedly) 'ELLO POLLY!!!!! Testing! Testing! Testing! Testing! This is your nine o'clock alarm call!

(Takes parrot out of the cage and thumps its head on the counter. Throws it up in the air and watches it plummet to the floor.)

Mr. Praline: Now that's what I call a dead parrot.

Owner: No, no.....No, 'e's stunned!

Mr. Praline: STUNNED?!?

Owner: Yeah! You stunned him, just as he was wakin' up! Norwegian Blues stun easily, major.

Mr. Praline: Um...now look...now look, mate, I've definitely 'ad enough of this. That parrot is definitely deceased, and when I purchased it not 'alf an hour
ago, you assured me that its total lack of movement was due to it bein' tired and shagged out following a prolonged squawk.

Owner: Well, he's...he's, ah...probably pining for the fjords.

Mr. Praline: PININ' for the FJORDS?!?!?!? What kind of talk is that?, look, why did he fall flat on his back the moment I got 'im home?

Owner: The Norwegian Blue prefers keepin' on it's back! Remarkable bird, id'nit, squire? Lovely plumage!

Mr. Praline: Look, I took the liberty of examining that parrot when I got it home, and I discovered the only reason that it had been sitting on its perch in the
first place was that it had been NAILED there.

(pause)

Owner: Well, o'course it was nailed there! If I hadn't nailed that bird down, it would have nuzzled up to those bars, bent 'em apart with its beak, and
VOOM! Feeweeweewee!

Mr. Praline: "VOOM"?!? Mate, this bird wouldn't "voom" if you put four million volts through it! 'E's bleedin' demised!

Owner: No no! 'E's pining!

Mr. Praline: 'E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e
rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the
bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!!

(pause)

Owner: Well, I'd better replace it, then. (he takes a quick peek behind the counter) Sorry squire, I've had a look 'round the back of the shop, and uh,
we're right out of parrots.

Mr. Praline: I see. I see, I get the picture.

Owner: I got a slug.

(pause)

Mr. Praline: Pray, does it talk?

Owner: Nnnnot really.

Mr. Praline: WELL IT'S HARDLY A BLOODY REPLACEMENT, IS IT?!!???!!?

Owner: N-no, I guess not. (gets ashamed, looks at his feet)

Mr. Praline: Well.

(pause)

Owner: (quietly) D'you.... d'you want to come back to my place?

Mr. Praline: (looks around) Yeah, all right, sure.

The Song which I never understood

When ever I go to some hip-hob club , I hear a enthralling music
Ma-ia-hii
Ma-ia-huu
Ma-ia-ha
Ma-ia-ha ha

As usual Indian way I act like I know each and every word of the song ,
indeed I know only the beginning line . But the funniest part is
I always thought this is spanish song
( hehe .. I dont know any spanish except ameigo and com estos ) ...

And unfortunately one day the truth comes out when I asked some songs from my collegue in his
mother tongue . He played this song and I wondered and curiously I asked him
Are you from Spain ? .. He asked me Why do you think so .. I said you play spanish song ...

He said thats romanian and it is a band called O-Zone ...
There ends my bad karma and my bad wisdom ..

Watch it out that in Youtube ..

There goes lyrics in Romanian

Alo, Salut, sunt eu, un haiduc,
Si te rog, iubirea mea, primeste fericirea.
Alo, alo, sunt eu Picasso,
Ti-am dat beep, si sunt voinic,
Dar sa stii nu-ti cer nimic.

Vrei sa pleci dar nu ma, nu ma iei,
Nu ma, nu ma iei, nu ma, nu ma, nu ma iei.
Chipul tau si dragostea din tei,
Mi-amintesc de ochii tai.

Vrei sa pleci dar nu ma, nu ma iei,
Nu ma, nu ma iei, nu ma, nu ma, nu ma iei.
Chipul tau si dragostea din tei,
Mi-amintesc de ochii tai.

Te sun, sa-ti spun, ce simt acum,
Alo, iubirea mea, sunt eu, fericirea.
Alo, alo, sunt iarasi eu, Picasso,
Ti-am dat beep, si sunt voinic,
Dar sa stii nu-ti cer nimic.

Vrei sa pleci dar nu ma, nu ma iei,
Nu ma, nu ma iei, nu ma, nu ma, nu ma iei.
Chipul tau si dragostea din tei,
